Yesterday, I challenged Oppos reading an article about the '92 Olds 88 Royale to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! based only on the numbers mentioned in a specific frame. The number mentioned included # cylinders, mpg, price, hp, and 0-60 time. The challenge is to try it without adjusting to any modern numbers, including price. This led to the realization that "new" cars like the Kia Rondo, Dodge Avenger and Mitsubishi Galant share a little too much in common with the Olds land yacht.

Buick regal GS. Slightly faster to 60 in manual form and slightly better fuel economy because it doesn't have a V8....But this is close.

Only the CTS-V comes with a V8 and it sure as hell isn't for $40K or less.

The Regal GS MT hits 60 in 6.7 and averages much better than 20mpg. You're right, though. No V8.

It's $46k and only comes with a slushbox. But it hits 60 much faster, and with nearly twice the horsepower.

Ugh the 530i/iT was terrible in the States. God damn Nikasil - but on the flip side BMW did replace some number of these engines if you pushed hard enough with BMWNA. 540i with the 6 speed in 95-96 was the ticket
